The Lake Mills Wellness Coalition (LMWC) was established through an initiative started by Fort HealthCare as an effort to bring together area leaders from healthcare, business, government, community organizations and schools to develop strategies and coordinate efforts to improve the health and well-being of our communities. The LMWC is working to improve nutrition, encourage fitness and fight obesity within our own community. Obesity and its associated health problems affect every walk of life, every ethnicity, every age and have been attributed to the rise in diabetes, heart disease, breathing problems and much more. The goal of this coalition, hosted through Rock Lake Activity Center, is to continue to strengthen our community while working to improve our community’s health.
The LMWC continues to look for individuals who are interested in assisting our efforts in fighting the battle of obesity in Lake Mills. To join the coalition, contact Deb van Ommeren, Executive Director of Rock Lake Activity Center at (920) 945-0156 or [email protected].
